Accessibility statement and reporting a barrier
The goal is to make the same information available through different ways of using the site.
Wars of Israel is designed with accessibility in mind. The site's target is WCAG 2.1 level AA, with Israeli Standard IS 5568 also relevant to the accessibility framework. This statement describes the features specified for the site; it is not a claim of formal certification or a guarantee that every combination of browser and assistive technology will work without difficulty.
Navigation and reading
The site uses semantic page structure and navigation landmarks, a skip-to-content link and visible keyboard focus. Menus and interactive tools support keyboard navigation. Hebrew and English pages identify their language and reading direction. Text can be enlarged to 200% without loss of content, and the design aims for appropriate color contrast. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.
Images and interactive tools
Images have alternative text. The timeline, historical index and map each have a plain list alternative, so the information does not depend solely on visual interaction. Use the list if a map point is difficult to select or the spatial presentation is not useful to you. Location notes also explain whether a marker is approximate.
Limitations
No formal accessibility certification is claimed. Complex historical relationships may require reading the accompanying text rather than relying on a visual alone. External archives and source websites have their own accessibility characteristics and are outside this site's control. A problem not identified here may still occur, particularly with a specific browser, device or assistive technology.
Report a barrier
Email [email protected] with the page address, the action you were trying to complete and what prevented it. If helpful, include your device, browser and assistive technology. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or other sensitive health information. We can use these details to investigate the issue and consider an alternative way to provide the information, without promising a particular response or repair time.
