Privacy policy: browsing, email and optional analytics
You can read the site without creating an account or accepting analytics.
Wars of Israel is a static publication operated independently by its owner. It has no reader accounts, logins, comments, forms, newsletter, payments or advertising at launch. This policy explains information associated with browsing and with messages you choose to send. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
Server logs and site delivery
The hosting service keeps standard server logs for security and operation. These may record your IP address, browser user agent, requested page address and request time. Reading a page therefore does not mean that no technical information is processed, even if analytics are declined. Fonts, maps, icons and site scripts are served from the site itself. The site does not include third-party video, social-media or map-tile embeds.
Your stored choice
The consent banner offers Accept analytics or Essential only. The choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under the key woi-consent. This storage remembers a preference; it is not an account or a subscription. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change the choice. Clearing site data in your browser can remove the saved preference. The cookie policy explains this distinction in more detail.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4 loads only if the owner has enabled it and you have accepted analytics. Until both conditions are met, no analytics run. When enabled with consent, analytics can use cookies and related technical information to measure page use and site activity. Information processed through that service is also subject to Google's practices. We do not describe analytics as anonymous or claim that accepting it involves no processing of technical identifiers. Choosing Essential only leaves the articles available.
Changing your choice controls future analytics use on this site; it does not itself erase information already processed. Browser controls can be used to clear stored site data. The site does not claim that the preference button deletes historical records held by an analytics provider.
Email inquiries
If you email us, we receive the address, message and any attachments you send. These are used only to answer the inquiry and make corrections where relevant. Send only what is needed. Avoid unnecessary identity documents, medical information or private information about other people. Email necessarily involves the services used to deliver and store the correspondence.
Retention and requests
Information is kept as needed for the purpose described, with technical log retention governed by hosting arrangements. This policy does not promise a fixed deletion period that has not been established. You may contact [email protected] to ask about information you supplied, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. The response depends on the information held, the ability to identify it and applicable requirements. A request may require proportionate verification of who is making it.
Changes and external sites
Links to other websites lead to services with their own privacy practices. This policy describes this publication, not those external services. If the site's features or data practices change, this policy should be updated to reflect the change.
