Cookie policy and browser consent settings
The saved preference and optional analytics serve different purposes.
The site remembers your consent choice in your browser and offers optional analytics. Reading articles does not require you to accept analytics. This policy explains what the banner controls and how to revisit your decision.
The essential preference
Your choice is stored in local storage under the key woi-consent. Local storage is a browser storage mechanism, distinct from a cookie. Here its purpose is to remember whether you chose Accept analytics or Essential only. The site does not create a reader account from that choice. The launch configuration does not identify any additional essential cookie set by the publication itself.
Analytics only after acceptance
Google Analytics 4 is loaded only when the owner has enabled the service and the visitor has accepted analytics. Otherwise no analytics run. If both conditions are met, the service may use analytics cookies to measure activity such as page use. Cookie behavior and duration depend on the active service settings; this page does not invent a fixed list or expiry period for a configuration that may not be enabled.
Change or clear your choice
Use Cookie settings in the footer to reopen the choices. Selecting Essential only withdraws permission for future analytics use on this site. It does not reverse processing that already occurred or guarantee deletion of previously stored analytics cookies. You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser's site-data controls. If the saved preference is removed, you may need to choose again. Preferences are browser-specific, so a choice made in one browser may not apply in another.
Questions and related information
The privacy policy explains server logs and email inquiries, which are separate from analytics consent. For questions about these settings, email [email protected]. Changes to the site's storage or analytics setup should be reflected in this policy.
