Locate historical events on the regional map

Use location as a starting point, while keeping historical borders separate.

The map connects historical records with places mentioned in their accounts. Choose a point or use the accompanying list to open an event. A marker may represent a specific site, a town or a broader theater; the location note explains its meaning and any limits on precision. Coordinates are checked against Wikidata or GeoNames, and an approximate marker should not be read as an exact battlefield position.

The basemap comes from Natural Earth and depicts present-day boundaries as represented in that dataset. These are not the borders that existed when a historical event took place, and the map does not settle disputed boundaries or claims to territory. Read the event's text for its geographical and political setting. A single marker also cannot show every movement, front or community affected by a conflict. The plain list provides access to the records without relying on the map.
